Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Software Developer. The Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that power Sport Network’s social media platform. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, optimizing existing code, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with product, design, and QA teams to deliver reliable releases. The role involves writing clean, testable code, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions that ensure scalability and security. The Software Developer will also help improve development workflows, documentation, and best practices across the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their practical application.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with RESTful or GraphQL APIs, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and cloud-based environments.
• Ability to write unit and integration tests and work with automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in social media, sports, or consumer-facing digital products is a plus.
