2. About the Opportunity:
The Software Engineer ole supports the development and maintenance of software solutions for federal programs. This position is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience while contributing to product enhancements and internal development initiatives. The role plays a key part in ensuring application stability, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and collaborating closely with experienced technical team members.
3. Responsibilities:
• Participate in design, development, testing, and maintenance of software for CRS and ArtivaRM.
• Collaborate with Lead and Senior Engineers to build technical and business knowledge.
• Develop and enhance application features, reports, integrations, and fixes.
• Apply software development best practices and secure coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of application defects and system issues.
• Reproduce issues in test environments and assist with root cause analysis.
• Help maintain application performance, stability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and product teams to deliver solutions.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and team discussions.
• Communicate progress and challenges to team members and leadership.
• Develop proficiency in relevant tools, technologies, and platforms.
• Expand technical knowledge through training, mentorship, and project work.
• Understand federal program requirements and compliance expectations.
4. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1 to 2 years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and software development fundamentals.
• Experience with software development through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional work.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, or SQL.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business domains.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to accept feedback and work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in software development.
• Familiarity with ArtivaRM or enterprise business applications.
• Exposure to InterSystems Cache, SQL databases, or related technologies.
• Experience with tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Git, and Agile environments.
• Understanding of software testing and debugging techniques.
• Interest in working in a government or federally regulated environment.
