Piper Companies is seeking a
Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join a fast-growing healthcare technology startup. The
Senior Fullstack Software Engineer role is ideal for an experienced engineer with deep expertise in
React and
Node.js (
TypeScript), strong
cloud experience in AWS, and a passion for building AI-native products that ship to production and deliver real-world impact.
Responsibilities of the Senior Fullstack Software Engineer:
- Design, build, and maintain fullstack applications using React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Develop and scale backend services and APIs leveraging AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Work with PostgreSQL to design, optimize, and maintain reliable data models.
- Build and ship AI-enabled features, integrating modern AI tools and workflows into production systems.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teammates in an agile startup environment.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making as the platform scales
- Engage with local teammates through in-person meetups in the Washington, D.C. area while working remotely day to day.
Qualifications of the Senior Fullstack Software Engineer:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a fullstack role.
- Strong hands-on experience with React and Node.js using TypeScript.
- Proven experience deploying and scaling applications in AWS.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrated passion for AI-native development, with experience shipping AI-driven features into real production environments.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving requirements and high ownership.
- Ability to work remotely while being local to the Washington, D.C. area for periodic team meetups.
Compensation for the Senior Fullstack Software Engineer includes:
- Salary range: $170,000 - $180,000 (depending on experience)
