Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Engineer based in Kathmandu. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain full stack applications, ensuring high performance and scalability. Daily responsibilities include writing reliable and efficient code, troubleshooting and debugging to resolve technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design software architecture. The role also involves adhering to coding best practices and contributing to product development and system improvements. We're ideally looking for a Product Person, someone who is Curious and Hungry.

What You’ll Do

Platform Engineering & Full-Stack Development

• Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services using NestJS and Prisma
• Develop performant, responsive UIs with React
• Design secure APIs and access layers for sensitive health data
• Work with PostgreSQL (Aurora) and JSONB for hybrid data modeling
• Leverage Redis and OpenSearch for high-performance querying and caching
• Ensure system resilience and scalability

Security & Privacy by Design

• Apply secure coding practices and enforce least-privilege access throughout the stack
• Stay current with CVEs, dependency hygiene, and infrastructure hardening
• Participate in internal threat modeling, risk assessment, and incident response readiness

Collaboration & Iteration

• Work closely with product, design, and ML teams to shape feature development
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and security assessments
• Help build internal tooling, CI/CD workflows, and observability infrastructure

Who You Are

• 2–4 years of full-stack development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Proficient in NestJS, React, and API development
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, JSONB, and relational/data hybrid models
• Experience working with AWS, particularly EKS, Aurora, and IAM policies
• Familiar with Python for scripting or ML service integration
• Deep appreciation for application and cloud security; you think like an attacker and build like a guardian
• Experience with or interest in healthtech, compliance, or regulated environments
