About The Role

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to elevate your software engineering career as a Software Engineer III at J.P. Morgan within the Network Services team. In this role, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your primary focus will be on developing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains to support the firm’s business objectives. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from architecture and design to implementation, testing, and deployment, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, complemented by at least three years of applied experience. Strong proficiency in Python development, including writing well-tested, maintainable code, is essential. Experience building and maintaining APIs using frameworks such as Django or FastAPI is required. Candidates should have robust system design skills, particularly across distributed services, relational and NoSQL data stores, and messaging systems like RabbitMQ. Practical experience with cloud services, especially Amazon Web Services, is necessary. A solid understanding of secure software development lifecycle practices, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and operational resilience is vital. Leadership qualities demonstrated through code reviews, technical decision-making, and mentoring are highly valued. Familiarity with agile methodologies, AI-assisted development tools, and responsible AI practices will set candidates apart.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include executing software solutions, designing, developing, and troubleshooting complex systems while thinking beyond routine approaches to innovate solutions. You will create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that integrate seamlessly with existing systems. Leveraging enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools, you will enhance code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, ensuring outputs are validated via peer reviews, automated testing, and secure coding standards. You will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring all design constraints are met. Analyzing large and diverse data sets, you will develop visualizations and reports to facilitate continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Your proactive approach will help identify hidden problems and patterns in data, driving enhancements in system architecture and coding hygiene. You will also contribute learnings and reusable patterns to improve team effectiveness and leverage automation capabilities within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain to optimize workflows.
