About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to lead our mobile application development initiatives and shape the technical strategy across our Product Engineering teams. As a key technical leader, you will be instrumental in driving innovation, mentoring engineering teams, and delivering impactful solutions that align with our product and business objectives for both Web and Mobile platforms. Your role will involve collaborating closely with Product Management and Product Engineering to develop customer-centric capabilities while leveraging lean development practices. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-performing, scalable mobile applications that meet business needs and enhance user experience. A proactive approach to risk management, performance optimization, and scalability is essential to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our mobile solutions. You will also contribute to establishing a community of practice within the organization, fostering technical excellence, and influencing industry standards through thought leadership and innovation. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with extensive hands-on experience in mobile application development.
- Proven expertise in native mobile development using Swift, Kotlin, and hybrid technologies such as Flutter.
- Experience in delivering production-grade applications and defining technical architecture for mobile systems.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security) and building RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with platform-specific tools and frameworks including Xcode and Android Studio.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in remote teams.
- Experience with modern lean software development practices, including pair programming, TDD, and trunk-based development.
- Understanding of app store submission processes for iOS and Android, including compliance with platform guidelines.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Bitrise, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
- Experience with advanced testing frameworks such as Mockito, Appium, or Flutter's integration test package.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles for mobile applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance mobile applications that align with business objectives and customer needs.
- Define and execute the technical vision and architecture for e-commerce mobile products, focusing on both native and hybrid platforms.
- Provide technical leadership in native (Swift, Kotlin) and Flutter development, including native integration and performance optimization.
- Ensure code quality through best practices, code reviews, and implementing strategies for reliable and safe updates to production systems.
- Collaborate with fellow Staff and Senior Staff Engineers to develop community of practice and organizational technical strategies.
- Mentor junior, intermediate, and senior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing, technical growth, and best practices.
- Drive performance optimization initiatives to enhance app responsiveness, stability, and user experience across platforms.
- Partner with Engineering Managers to evaluate team performance, contribute to hiring efforts, and support professional development.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative solutions into our mobile platform.
- Publish technical insights and influence organizational and industry standards to promote best practices and innovation.
- Perform additional duties aligned with organizational priorities to support overall business success.
