About the Opportunity

Our direct client is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join a collaborative technology team responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical business applications. This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle, solving complex technical challenges, and building high-quality enterprise applications.

You'll work on a variety of projects, including developing new features, resolving production issues, and supporting both production and lower environments. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a small, experienced team that builds applications customers rely on every day.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and develop implementation roadmaps.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using modern software development practices.
• Maintain ESRI/ArcGIS databases and related applications.
• Partner with technical leaders to evaluate solution options, tools, and third-party technologies.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies while contributing within established development processes.
• Design innovative solutions for complex technical challenges.
• Work closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality software.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues.
• Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production applications.
• Perform additional development and support duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 7+ years of enterprise Java (JEE) software development experience.
• Strong experience with ESRI GIS technologies, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Server for publishing and managing GIS services.
• Hands-on experience with spatial databases and SQL Server.
• Proficiency in:
• Java
• Python
• JavaScript
• SQL
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or other LLM-based coding assistants to improve developer productivity and code quality.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience developing modern web applications using Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Experience building scalable enterprise applications in an Agile environment.
