Front End UI/UX | PickPart | Remote | BUILDER ROLE | Equity opportunity |
This is a builder role, do not apply if you lack the initiative and builder / startup mindset. You have the chance to be part of a team that is revolutionizing the industry.
The ideal candidate would be someone who deliberately wants to join an early stage startup. You understand that it involves meaningful responsibilities, end-to-end accountability and ownership....
You take initiative, you are comfortable working with incomplete information and can follow through and deliver.
You care what happens after launch, customer journey, product reliability and real word testing and you want to learn the ins and outs of this business.
Company Description: PickPart is a mobile platform that simplifies how car owners and spare parts dealers connect across Lebanon and Iraq. To date we have connected 70,000+ users with 800+ dealers and has handled 30,000+ requests.
Own the next stage of our engineering:
We are bringing on a Front End Dev to take ownership of a live product and build its next stage.
You will work directly with the Founders, Head of Growth & the backend team to assist in paving our roadmap which spans B2B solutions and fulfillment platforms, transactional commerce, partner workspaces and improvements to our existing mobile product. Detailed product plans will be shared during the selection process. You should be comfortable taking an unclear requirement, asking the right questions, proposing a practical solution, and carrying it through launch and ongoing operation.
Chatting with claude using prompts from 2022 doesn't make you ai native, you have to be able to guide this technology. Includes but not limited to: Understanding .md files, instructions flow files and navigation, architecture templates, model protocols, context engineering ...
Your mandate:
- Audit and take ownership of the existing frontend codebase through a structured handover.
- Translate business priorities into user journeys, frontend architecture, scoped releases, and acceptance criteria.
- Build responsive, polished experiences across web and mobile, including offer, purchase, business, and partner workflows.
- Agree API contracts, data models, permissions, and integration dependencies with backend and data teams before implementation.
- Identify missing endpoints, inconsistent data, and integration failures; reproduce issues and coordinate fixes through verification.
- Own frontend development, testing, release readiness, monitoring, documentation, and maintenance.
- Demonstrate working progress regularly, flag risks early, and drive delivery across team dependencies.
- Protect the existing user experience while introducing new capabilities.
The backend team owns server logic, payment processing, database changes, and infrastructure. You own frontend implementation and integration, and lead coordination through release. The business team owns commercial relationships, fulfillment operations, and customer acquisition.
You:
- Mobile development: Experience shipping production mobile interfaces and integrations. Proficiency in the relevant mobile framework, such as Flutter or React Native, or demonstrated ability to take over our existing stack.
- UI/UX execution: Ability to turn requirements and designs into clear, usable journeys with complete loading, empty, error, and recovery states. Arabic and right to left interface experience is an advantage.
- Marketplaces and commerce: Personal contribution to a live marketplace, including buyer and seller journeys, catalogue, inventory availability, checkout, order tracking, cancellations, and returns.
- Payments: Experience integrating frontend payment flows, handling pending, successful, and failed transactions, preventing duplicate submissions, and displaying server confirmed payment and order states.
- Backend and data literacy: Working knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs, JSON, authentication, relational data, and SQL sufficient to discuss schemas, diagnose integration issues, and communicate effectively with backend developers and data engineers.
- B2B workflows: Experience with organisation accounts, user roles, approvals, business dashboards, and administrative interfaces. Understand that access controls must also be enforced by the backend.
- Quality and operations: Git, frontend CI/CD, unit and integration testing, end to end testing, browser and device debugging, error monitoring, secure session handling, and release coordination.
- AI native delivery: Daily proficiency with AI coding tools and agents, prompt engineering, and context management. Ability to review, test, secure, explain, and maintain generated code, supported by examples of shipped work.
The frontend framework will be selected or confirmed after the handover. You must justify recommendations using the existing product, delivery requirements, and maintenance costs.
The builder mindset
Automotive knowledge or enthusiasm for cars is preferred.
Initial three months
The engagement begins with a frontend audit, an agreed delivery plan, API and data dependency mapping, and clearly defined first release milestones. Progress will be assessed through working releases, engineering quality, ownership, and communication.
Dates will be agreed after the initial review and coordinated with backend and data teams.
Compensation and equity:
Compensation: It will be discussed in later screening rounds.
Equity opportunity: equity will be earned through agreed delivery and maintenance milestones, and it will be vested as you progress.
Additional benefits and perks will also be discussed in later screening rounds.
Location: Remote, no commute necessary.
