Role Description As a Software Engineer at MeetsMore, you will design, develop, test, and maintain backend and/or frontend features that power our local services platform. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine requirements, propose technical solutions, and deliver high-quality, scalable code. Day-to-day work includes participating in code reviews, improving system performance, enhancing reliability, and automating workflows to support rapid iteration. You will also help monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to technical documentation and architecture discussions. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Tokyo, Japan, with a mix of in-office collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript).
• Experience with web application development, including frameworks for backend and/or frontend (e.g., Spring Boot, Node.js, React, Vue, or similar).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals, including testing and code quality practices.
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, API design, and integration of third-party services.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, GCP, CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker or Kubernetes).
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment, communicate clearly, and take ownership of features from design to deployment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in building products for local services businesses in Japan; business-level Japanese or English is beneficial.
