Role Description As a Software Engineer at MeetsMore, you will design, develop, test, and maintain backend and/or frontend features that power our local services platform. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine requirements, propose technical solutions, and deliver high-quality, scalable code. Day-to-day work includes participating in code reviews, improving system performance, enhancing reliability, and automating workflows to support r
apid iteration. You will also help monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to technical documentation and architecture discussions. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Tokyo, Japan, with a mix of in-office collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript).
- Experience with web application development, including frameworks for backend and/or frontend (e.g., Spring Boot, Node.js, React, Vue, or similar).
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals, including testing and code quality practices.
- Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, API design, and integration of third-party services.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, GCP, CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker or Kubernetes).
- Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment, communicate clearly, and take ownership of features from design to deployment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in building products for local services businesses in Japan; business-level Japanese or English is beneficial.
