About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join Lockheed Martin's Enterprise Sustainment Solutions Business area. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining sophisticated training systems for some of the most advanced military platforms, including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Your work will involve designing, developing, testing, and debugging software solutions that support complex aerospace and defense operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate high-level requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring the delivery of reliable and innovative software products. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that contribute to national security and technological excellence, with a focus on continuous improvement and professional growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related discipline with experience in the software development life cycle. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Oracle databases is essential. Experience with version control and CI/CD tools like GitLab or similar platforms is required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems. Prior experience providing software Basis of Estimates (BOEs) to support engineering proposals is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates must be able to operate independently, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and support multiple programs through all phases of software development.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include contributing to the design and development of complex software solutions, ensuring adherence to established standards, processes, and procedures throughout the development lifecycle. You will translate operational requirements into detailed software specifications and design documents, develop and document software components, and perform testing and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability. You will also plan, coordinate, and execute software development activities, supporting system integration and validation efforts. Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and integrating new tools and technologies into existing programs will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you will support the creation of technical documentation and provide estimates to support project planning and proposals.
