Software Engineer, Full Stack
Role overview
Join an engineering pod building a cybersecurity training platform for defense contractors and federal agencies. You will ship full-stack features using Angular and Node/TypeScript in an agentic development workflow with human review on every change. This role requires both collaborative teamwork and individual ownership—you will manage tickets from initial clarification through to final merge while collaborating daily with client engineers.
What you'll do
Build and ship full-stack features across Angular 20 front ends and Node/Express APIs backed by PostgreSQL.
Turn ticket requirements into small, scoped Github pull requests in human-digestible format.
Write unit tests and Playwright end-to-end tests, and attach screenshots to UI changes.
Leverage agentic tools (such as 3Pillar’s own Helix ATLAS AI brand) for coding, code review, research, and documentation, while clearly communicating knowledge gaps.
Submit pull requests from your fork with a title in the agreed format, and respond quickly to two reviewers.
Join the daily standup, keep tickets current in Shortcut, and flag blockers early to our client's engineers.
What you bring
Three to five years of professional full-stack experience, with strong TypeScript.
Hands-on Angular (current versions) and Material Design components.
Node.js and Express API development, with PostgreSQL schema and query skills.
A habit of testing: unit tests plus Playwright or similar end-to-end tools.
Comfort with Git forks, disciplined pull requests and code review.
Strong written and spoken English skills, with the confidence to proactively engage and clarify requirements with client stakeholders.
Nice to have
Experience with agentic coding tools such as Cursor, Codex or other agentic IDEs, including MCP integrations.
Prior work on training, learning-platform or compliance products; Docker and CI/CD familiarity.
Experience with security-conscious or regulated environments, including security awareness training.
How we work
You will join a five-person 3Pillar pod embedded directly with the client's engineering team. The pod conducts daily standups Monday through Thursday, operates asynchronously on Fridays, and holds weekly delivery reviews to keep stakeholders aligned. Work is managed in Shortcut and communicated via Slack. Development follows disciplined standards: fork-based workflows, two peer reviews per PR, scoped pull requests accompanied by tests and screenshots, and Material Design UI standards.
Agentic development is part of the job. The pod uses Helix ATLAS with guardrails, and a human reviews every change. Weekly brownbags share what works. Onboarding includes Docker, Tailscale, Slack access and security awareness training before your first commit.
