Senior Software Engineer
Location: US, Remote · Offices in Denver and Seattle
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $160,000–$200,000 base salary + equity + benefits
About Us
We are building AI-powered software that helps healthcare providers reduce administrative work and spend more time focused on patient care.
Our platform combines modern software, clinical data, and AI to automate workflows across clinical documentation, EHR integrations, clinical decision support, coding, and revenue cycle management.
We operate in a HIPAA-regulated environment where security, reliability, data accuracy, and correctness are critical.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own significant areas of our platform, including clinic-facing products, EHR integrations, AI pipelines, and the infrastructure that supports them.
This is a hands-on engineering role. You will design and ship production systems, make architectural decisions with long-term impact, and raise the engineering bar through code reviews, mentorship, and technical leadership.
We make extensive use of agentic coding and AI-assisted development. Senior engineers are expected to use these tools thoughtfully and rigorously while helping other engineers adopt effective development practices.
Our Technology Stack
- Frontend: Vue.js
- Backend: C#/.NET, Python, Go
- Database: PostgreSQL (Aurora)
- Cloud: AWS
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes / EKS
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own production systems end to end, including features, integrations, and supporting services.
- Lead technically ambiguous projects with minimal supervision, turning loosely defined product or integration challenges into reliable, supportable systems.
- Build and maintain integrations with major EHR platforms, including Veradigm, NextGen, athenahealth, Epic, and others.
- Ensure reliability and data correctness across systems where technical performance can directly impact patient care and revenue.
- Help scale and mature our platform through multi-tenant authentication and SSO, durable background processing, horizontal scaling, observability, and safe release practices such as feature-flagged deployments.
- Build data-intensive systems for clinical document extraction, patient-data pipelines, and AI evaluation infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain high standards for security, correctness, reliability, and auditability within a HIPAA-regulated environment.
- Mentor early-career engineers through code reviews, pairing, technical guidance, and design feedback.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting physicians during US clinic hours and proactively address the root causes of production issues.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites to gather first-hand feedback and accelerate integrations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems.
- Strong programming skills across the technology stack, with deep backend expertise in C#, Python, or Go and working knowledge of frontend development, or strong frontend expertise with substantial backend experience.
- Experience designing, building, and operating distributed production systems, including multi-instance services, background processing, and production observability.
- Strong technical judgment, including knowing when to build, buy, simplify scope, or challenge an approach.
- Demonstrated ability to improve the effectiveness and technical capabilities of other engineers.
- Experience taking ownership of complex technical problems and delivering reliable production solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with healthcare data, EHR integrations, HL7/FHIR, or other regulated environments.
- Experience building or working with LLM-based systems, agentic development tools, or AI evaluation frameworks.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure.
- Familiarity with clinical workflows, healthcare technology, or healthcare data systems.
