Role Description

KEDOC is seeking a Python Full-Stack Developer / Software Engineer to help develop, maintain and modernize technology supporting our clinical and administrative operations. Not an AI based engineer without proper doftware engineering understandg.

The developer will work primarily with Python and Flask while contributing to frontend development, databases, APIs, integrations, security and system performance.

This is a long-term technology development partnership, not a short-term freelance assignment. The role is hybrid and based in Nandi County, Kenya, with occasional on-site interaction with staff and stakeholders.

* Develop and maintain Python/Flask applications and APIs.

* Work with the existing KHO/KEDOC HMIS platform.

* Develop web interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

* Design, maintain and optimize relational databases.

* Integrate REST APIs, third-party services and external systems.

* Troubleshoot software, database and integration issues.

* Support medical-device and laboratory-system integrations.

* Improve application security, reliability and performance.

* Review existing code and contribute to system architecture.

* Work with clinical, administrative and technical teams to translate requirements into software solutions.

* Strong Python skills and practical experience with Flask, Django, FastAPI or a similar framework.

* Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills.

* Solid SQL and relational database knowledge.

* Experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML and third-party integrations.

* Experience with Git/GitHub, debugging, testing and documentation.

* Understanding of software architecture, authentication, authorization, RBAC and secure development.

* Awareness of healthcare data privacy and protection requirements.

* Ability to analyse existing code and solve technical problems independently.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills.

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Advantage

Experience with React/Vue/Angular, PostgreSQL, Docker, Linux, cloud deployment, CI/CD, automated testing, HMIS/EMR systems, medical-device integration, HL7/FHIR, payment APIs or AI/automation will be an advantage.
