We are looking for a Junior Backend Developer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who has strong backend development fundamentals and actively uses AI-powered coding tools as part of their everyday workflow.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Node.js and Python, building APIs, working with databases, and developing backend services. We are open to candidates with less professional experience if they demonstrate strong technical potential, practical project experience, and an agentic approach to software development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and Python.
• Design and implement reliable, scalable, and maintainable server-side applications.
• Work with databases, data models, integrations, and third-party APIs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend performance, functionality, and integration issues.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and other cross-functional team members.
• Contribute to technical decisions and continuous improvements across the backend architecture.
• Use AI coding agents and modern development tools to accelerate implementation, debugging, testing, refactoring, and documentation.
• Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure accuracy, security, and maintainability.
• Learn new backend technologies and frameworks as project requirements evolve.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in backend or full-stack development through professional roles, internships, freelance work, or substantial personal projects.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and/or Python.
• Experience building REST APIs, backend services, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of backend development concepts, data structures, debugging, and software design principles.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted or agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT Codex, or similar platforms.
• Ability to use AI tools effectively while independently reviewing, testing, and improving the resulting code.
• Willingness to learn Node.js if coming from a primarily Python or other backend-language background.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.

Salary: $1,400 USD per month
