Over Bitonic

In april 2012 is Bitonic als eerste bedrijf in Nederland gestart met het (geautomatiseerd) aanbieden van bitcoins via iDEAL. Dit doen we via onze website en onze app. Ook bieden we de mogelijkheid bitcoin bij ons te bewaren (custodial) in plaats van in een eigen wallet en kun je via Auto Invest automatisch investeren in bitcoin.

De missie van Bitonic is: Bitcoin for everyone. Ons team werkt dan ook met veel passie aan een toegankelijke en gemakkelijke dienstverlening voor de aanschaf en verkoop van Bitcoins.

Bitonic hanteert een organisatiestructuur gebaseerd op Holacracy bestaande uit zelfsturende cirkels. Deze systematiek creëert een platte organisatiestructuur waarbij elke mening gelijk telt. De werkcultuur binnen Bitonic biedt veel vrijheid om jouw rol in te richten zoals jij denkt dat het beste is en geeft de mogelijkheid jouw ideeën voor te dragen en uit te werken.

Front-end developer bij Bitonic

Binnen deze rol ben je verantwoordelijk voor het (door)ontwikkelen van ons hoofdproduct: bitonic.nl. Via de website kunnen klanten bitcoins kopen en verkopen en hebben ze toegang tot hun eigen digitale omgeving. Het is voor klanten ook mogelijk om hun bitcoin bij Bitonic te bewaren (custodial) en zonder eigen wallet te kopen en verkopen. We ontwikkelen deze functionaliteit continu door nieuwe features toe te voegen en verbeteringen door te voeren die de klantervaring verder versterken. Als front-end developer werk je nauw samen met de back-end developers van het websiteteam. Daarnaast heb je regelmatig contact met andere teams, zoals Compliance.

Ons hoofdproduct bestaat al meer dan 10 jaar en bevat daarom ook legacy code, waar door de jaren heen op voortgebouwd is. We zijn voor deze functie op zoek naar een developer die zowel met nieuwe front-end technieken zoals React kan werken, als met legacy code.

Over jou

• Je bent in staat om duidelijke, gestructureerde code te schrijven die (bijna) geen toelichting nodig heeft en documenteert deze ook helder
• Naast het schrijven van nieuwe code, ben je ook in staat om af en toe oude code te transformeren om te voldoen aan de huidige standaarden
• Continue integratie, unit-testing en end-to-end testing zijn geen vreemde termen voor jou
• Je begrijpt de behoeften van de klant en denkt proactief mee om de gebruiksvriendelijkheid te optimaliseren
• Je bent flexibel, nieuwsgierig en je kunt jezelf perfect ontplooien in een omgeving met veel vrijheid
• Je wordt enthousiast van het bouwen van innovatieve en verbeterende systemen

Wat verwachten we van jou? 

• Je hebt minimaal 2 jaar werkervaring met software development in een professionele omgeving
• Je hebt solide ervaring met React, TanStack (Query/Router/Table), and Tailwind CSS
• Je hebt ervaring met native JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• Je hebt ervaring met Docker
• Je bent woonachtig in Nederland en bent in staat om met regelmaat naar ons kantoor in Amsterdam te komen

Nice to have:

• Ervaring met Twig, Sass/Less, Yarn
• Ervaring met PHP (Laravel)
• Ervaring met GitLab
• We zijn een bitcoin-bedrijf, dus interesse in bitcoin is een plus

Onze perks

• Het salaris is afhankelijk van jouw ervaring en expertise. Deze functie wordt ingeschaald in schaal 6 van onze salaris structuur tussen € 3.600 - €5.125 bruto per maand

About Bitonic

Front-end developer at Bitonic

In this role, you will be responsible for the (further) development of our flagship product, bitonic.nl. Through the website, customers can buy and sell bitcoins and access their own digital environment. It's also possible for customers to store their bitcoin with Bitonic (custodial) and buy and sell without their own wallet. We continuously develop new features and make improvements to this functionality to enhance the customer experience. As a Front-end Developer, you will work closely with the back-end developers in the website team while also collaborating with other teams, such as Compliance.

Our main product has been in existence for over 10 years and contains legacy code that has evolved over time. For this position, we are seeking for a developer skilled in working with both new front-end technologies like React, as well as legacy code.

About you

• You can write clear, structured code that requires little to no explanation and are able to document it clearly
• In addition to developing new features, you occasionally work on updating legacy code to meet current standards.
• Continuous integration, unit testing and end-to-end testing are familiar terms to you
• You understand the needs of the customer and think proactively to optimize user experience
• You are flexible, curious, and can thrive in an environment with a lot of autonomy
• You get excited about building innovative and improving systems

What do we expect from you?

• You have a minimum of 2 years of work experience with software development in a professional environment
• Solid experience with React, TanStack (Query/Router/Table), and Tailwind CSS
• Experience with native JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• You live in the Netherlands and can come to our Amsterdam office regularly
• Experience with Docker

Nice to have:

Our perks

• The salary depends on your working experience and expertise. This position will be scaled in scale 6 of our salary structure between € 3.600 - € 5.125 gross per month
