About The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, AI Initiatives, you will develop and deliver AI solutions that make a measurable difference to business processes. Working closely with business teams, you will identify valuable opportunities, translate operational needs into robust technical designs, and guide solutions from early concept through production deployment and ongoing operation.
This role brings together software engineering, artificial intelligence, and a practical understanding of business processes. You will build scalable solutions that integrate with Hygi.de’s existing technology landscape, including ERP, warehouse management, e-commerce, logistics, and business intelligence and data systems. You will also help establish effective ways of using AI-assisted and agentic development tools while ensuring that quality, security, privacy, monitoring, and reliable operations remain central throughout the software lifecycle.
Qualifications
You bring several years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer and a track record of developing, launching, and operating substantial business-critical systems. E-commerce experience is an advantage. You have a strong understanding of service-oriented architectures, REST APIs, system integrations, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring.
Practical experience with AI-assisted software development tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, is expected. You also have hands-on experience with LLM-based solutions, including approaches such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, or tool integrations. You apply sound technical judgment, work pragmatically, and maintain high quality standards. You understand where AI can improve a process and where human judgment remains essential.
You can explain complex technical topics clearly and connect engineering decisions with business requirements. Experience with PHP and Laravel or Python is beneficial. The current technology stack includes PHP, Laravel, Angular, TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, REST APIs, Docker Swarm, Jenkins, Git, Jira, and Confluence.
Responsibilities
Identify and advance AI initiatives across the business, taking suitable ideas from initial assessment through implementation and productive use. Develop technical concepts and sustainable architectures, then independently turn them into reliable software. Integrate AI solutions with the company’s existing business and technology systems, including ERP, warehouse management, e-commerce, logistics, and BI and data platforms.
Use AI-enabled and agentic tools to support modern software development practices. Take responsibility for testing, software quality, security, data privacy, monitoring, and dependable day-to-day operations. Collaborate closely with Business Systems, DevOps and Platform, BI and Data, business stakeholders, and external partners. Keep informed about emerging AI technologies and evaluate their suitability based on practical business needs, existing processes, and system requirements.
