Role Description This part-time remote API Developer role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining robust, secure, and scalable APIs that support Novo Tempo Terceirização de Serviços’ applications and integrations. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing new API endpoints, optimizing existing services for performance and reliability, and implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms. The API Developer will collaborate with product owners, other developers, and QA professionals to refine requirements, estimate effort, and ensure high-quality deliverables through testing and documentation. The role also involves monitoring API usage, troubleshooting issues in production, and proposing improvements to architecture, coding standards, and integration patterns.
Qualifications

• Strong experience with API design and development, including RESTful and/or GraphQL services.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language commonly used for API development (such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#).
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization.
• Knowledge of security best practices for APIs, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and rate limiting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and API gateways (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar) and containerization tools such as Docker.
• Ability to use version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines to manage and deploy code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex integration issues.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Organized, self-directed work style suited to a remote, part-time environment with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
