We are looking for a capable and motivated Mid-Level Software Developer to join the Goto.health team. You will help build and improve our online booking engine for allied health providers, allowing patients to book appointments online and pay for appointments through integrated payment providers.

This role is suited to someone who is already confident building production software, wants to grow quickly, and enjoys working in a startup environment where they can take ownership, solve real problems, and contribute across the stack.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain features for an online booking and payments platform.
• Develop user-facing booking flows using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and modern frontend practices.
• Contribute to backend services, APIs, and database work using Node.js and PostgreSQL.
• Support integrations with existing Practice Management Systems used by allied health clinics.
• Help implement payment flows using providers such as Tyro Payments and Airwallex.
• Work with senior engineers to improve reliability, security, testing, monitoring, and deployment practices.
• Collaborate with product, design, and commercial stakeholders to turn requirements into working software.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes, and contribute practical solutions without needing every step defined.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• 4+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and modern web application development.
• Experience with Next.js or similar full-stack web frameworks.
• Backend development experience with Node.js, APIs, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of authentication, authorisation, data privacy, and secure coding practices.
• Comfortable working with third-party APIs and integration-heavy systems.
• Good command of English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international clients and stakeholders.
• Able to work independently, communicate clearly, and ask good questions when requirements are unclear.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities can shift.

Highly Regarded

• Experience with AWS, cloud deployments, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring.
• Exposure to GCP or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience in health tech, allied health, medical software, or patient booking platforms.
• Experience integrating with Practice Management Systems such as Cliniko, Halaxy, Gensolve, Nookal, or similar.
• Experience with payment providers such as Tyro Payments, Airwallex, Stripe, or similar.
• Experience with automated testing, accessibility, performance, or security improvements.
