About the Role

• Architect and develop sophisticated Shopify storefronts, both native and headless (Hydrogen or custom React/Next.js).
• Lead technical delivery on ecommerce projects from scoping through launch.
• Build, maintain, and improve custom Shopify themes, apps, and integrations to support complex B2B/B2C requirements.
• Integrate third-party platforms and APIs (ERP such as SAP, PIM, OMS, loyalty, marketing tools, marketplace connectors).
• Work end-to-end across the stack: storefront UX, integration/middleware logic, and APIs/data flows.
• Collaborate closely with Ecommerce leadership, Marketing, Operations/COO, supply chain, and other internal teams.
• Assess the current Shopify Plus architecture and recommend whether to extend or rebuild key components, including a phased plan for new regions.
• Optimize performance and scalability for large catalogues, multi-location inventory, and B2B use cases.
• Shape Shopify platform configuration, workflows, and best practices so the environment is maintainable and resilient.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional Shopify development experience in complex environments.
• Strong Shopify Plus skills: Liquid, Theme OS 2.0, Shopify CLI, checkout extensibility, metafields.
• Solid experience building custom themes and custom/private Shopify apps.
• Proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React; comfortable with headless implementations (Hydrogen or React/Next.js).
• Backend experience with Node.js (or similar), REST/GraphQL APIs, and third-party integrations (ERP, PIM, OMS, marketplaces).
• Experience with multi-region or multi-language ecommerce (e.g., English/French, regional catalogues and pricing).
• Able to assess existing architecture and propose practical, phased improvements; strong communication with cross-functional teams.
• Experience using GenAI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development and documentation is a plus.
