About Nutree AI

Nutree AI is an AI-powered nutrition and wellness app helping people eat better, understand their nutrition, and build healthier habits.

We're a fast-moving startup with a live product and real paying customers. Our engineering team currently consists of two full-stack technical founders, and we're looking for our third engineer.

What You'll Do

• Develop and ship features for our Flutter mobile application.
• Build and integrate LLM-powered features into real user experiences.
• Work with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, structured outputs, and tool/function calling.
• Develop backend integrations using Firebase, APIs, and cloud services.
• Optimize AI features for latency, reliability, and API costs.
• Own product features from development to testing and production.
• Leverage Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI coding tools to accelerate development.

Must-Have Requirements

• Final-year students, fresh graduates, or junior engineers with 0–2 years of experience.
• Strong fundamentals in programming, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) in at least one real project.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, structured outputs (JSON), and LLM API integration.
• Experience with Flutter/Dart or another mobile development framework.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, databases, Git, and backend fundamentals.
• Experience developing real applications through internships, freelance work, personal projects, or professional employment.
• Ability to debug, test, and maintain both manually written and AI-generated code.

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM tool/function calling, RAG, or AI agents.
• Experience with Firebase, Cloud Functions, or Google Cloud.
• Experience shipping applications to the App Store or Google Play.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation, observability, and cost optimization.
• Experience working in a startup or building your own product.
