The role
As an Associate Web Developer, you will support our technical team as we help a Nigerian fintech firm expand its digital operations. This role exists to ensure that internal web portals and data interfaces are reliable, fast, and easy for non-technical staff to navigate. You will work closely with senior practitioners to bridge the gap between raw data and the tools people use to access it every day.

What you will do

• Review system logs to identify why specific internal web forms are failing to pass data to the backend database correctly.
• Update front end components using HTML and CSS to improve the layout and usability of internal dashboards.
• Assist in the migration of legacy web pages into a more stable framework to support the client's growing transaction volume.
• Write clear and concise technical documentation that explains how specific web tools are structured and how to maintain them.
• Test new internal features across multiple browsers to ensure that every team member has a consistent experience regardless of their setup.
• Identify and remove redundant JavaScript or CSS that is slowing down page load times for critical operations tools.
• Participate in daily code reviews to understand why certain logic was chosen and how to improve your own coding habits.
• Work within a fully remote team to coordinate updates and ensure that new code does not disrupt existing business processes.

What we are looking for

• Basic proficiency in core web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, likely gained through a degree program or coding boot camp.
• A logical approach to solving problems where you enjoy tracing a bug back to its source rather than just fixing the symptom.
• The ability to explain technical issues in plain English without relying on jargon or unnecessary complexity.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control tools to manage changes and collaborate with other developers.
• Genuine curiosity about how a fintech business operates and how web tools can make financial data more accessible.
