We're hiring an AI-Native Engineer with strong Node.js and React fundamentals to build scalable, real-time applications and AI-powered products. This is a backend-heavy role. Most of the work is in API design, data flow, and the logic that's easy to get subtly wrong.

This role is for someone who uses AI to improve how they design, build, debug, and ship software rather than someone who hands the thinking over to it. You'll work alongside international clients and teams, so clear English and real ownership matter as much as the code.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs in Node.js/TypeScript: schema design, data flow, and the edge cases that are hard to get right
• Work across React on the frontend where needed, with most of your time on the backend
• Take real tickets in a live codebase and own them end to end
• Use AI orchestration as part of how you build, not as a shortcut around understanding the problem
• Communicate clearly with the team about what you're building and why

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of professional experience, hands-on, writing production code
• Very strong coding fundamentals and a real understanding of complex systems, not just familiarity with a framework
• Strong hands-on Node.js, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, with real backend depth
• Debugging that's methodical: root-cause work, rather than trial-and-error patching
• Reads and reasons about code you didn't write, fluently, on sight
• Genuinely strong with LLM applications, spec-driven development (SDD), worktrees for parallel agent workflows, and sub-agents, not just familiar with the concepts. This is required, not a bonus
• Knows when not to use the tool, and hand-codes the tricky edge case instead of re-prompting five times
• Fluent English, comfortable in a fast-moving, English-speaking work environment
• Clear communication under pressure: narrates tradeoffs and flags what didn't get done

Nice to Have

• Event-driven or distributed systems experience
• WebRTC or other real-time communication tech
• Prior experience with international clients or software agencies
• Experience designing systems that had to evolve at scale
