This is a high-ownership role. You will contribute to architecture decisions, improve engineering practices, mentor other engineers, and help evolve the platform to support business growth, automation, and AI-assisted workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain large-scale software systems for logistics, fulfillment, warehouse, inventory, and delivery operations.
- Build reliable backend services, APIs, queue-based workflows, event-driven processes, and internal tools using TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, and related technologies.Develop responsive and maintainable user interfaces using React, while following established design systems, UX patterns, and design guidelines.
- Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Operations, and Business stakeholders to understand fulfillment workflows and turn business needs into practical technical solutions.
- Design scalable data models, service boundaries, queue processing flows, and system integrations that support high-volume operational use cases.
- Improve platform reliability through observability, monitoring, automated testing, performance optimization, and incident prevention.
- Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated test coverage for backend services, frontend components, and critical fulfillment workflows.
- Use AI tools responsibly to improve development speed, code quality, testing, debugging, documentation, and technical discovery.
- Lead technical design discussions, review code, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices across the team.
- Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes for system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Continuously improve engineering workflows, developer experience, code quality, deployment safety, and long-term platform maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong ownership of production systems.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and modern application development.
- Hands-on experience with React for building complex web applications, dashboards, internal tools, or operational platforms.
- Strong backend engineering skills, including API design, service design, data modeling, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, migrations, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with queues or messaging systems, such as BullMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies.
- Experience using Docker for local development, testing, deployment, or containerized services.
- Solid understanding of large-scale software design, including scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, maintainability, idempotency, retries, and failure handling.
- Strong testing mindset, with practical experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests.
- Ability to understand and apply design systems, component libraries, accessibility principles, and design guidelines when building product interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving ability, especially in ambiguous, complex, or cross-functional business domains.
- Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand new systems, business flows, technical constraints, and operational processes.
- Good business understanding, especially the ability to connect technical decisions to customer experience, operational efficiency, cost, speed, and fulfillment accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building logistics, fulfillment, warehouse management, inventory, delivery, marketplace, e-commerce, supply chain, or operations platforms.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, distributed systems, workflow orchestration, or high-throughput background processing.
- Experience designing systems for order lifecycle management, shipment tracking, routing, batching, dispatching, SLA monitoring, or exception handling.
- Experience improving system performance, database latency, queue throughput, and operational reliability.
- Experience working in a product engineering environment with close collaboration between Engineering, Product, Design, and Operations.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools in a professional engineering workflow.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical initiatives, and driving engineering standards.
