Challenge yourself and us
At AdvanceWorks, we learn together, grow together, and have fun together. And we do all this while creating great software solutions for clients across many industries and geographies.
We are constantly challenging ourselves and each other to use the latest technologies and the best methodologies and make sure we walk the talk.
About the project
You will join a public digital healthcare programme for a client in one of the Nordic countries. The work focuses on digital solutions used in the public healthcare sector, including interfaces built for healthcare staff and clinical specialists in their daily clinical work.
Depending on the client's needs, you may work across several of the client's initiatives or on a specific project. In both cases, you will work with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders towards clearly defined objectives, as part of a wider effort to support digital transformation and the client's strategic goals in healthcare.
Accessibility, security, and data protection are central to the project. The solutions follow WCAG 2.2 A and AA, apply security-by-design principles to defend against the OWASP Top 10, and handle medical record information under strict data protection rules. The interfaces connect to documented REST APIs with OpenAPI definitions and run on cloud-native platforms built to scale horizontally.
On the frontend, the technology stack follows one of two routes: .NET 8+ with ASP.NET Razor and/or HTMX, or React 18+ with strict TypeScript. Code quality is managed through a defined development handbook, and the team uses artificial intelligence in software development in a responsible and structured way.
What will be your role
We are looking for a Frontend Developer to build accessible, secure, and reliable interfaces for healthcare professionals in a public digital healthcare setting.
You will work either with .NET 8+ and ASP.NET Razor and/or HTMX, or with React 18+ and strict TypeScript, depending on your background. Your work will turn clinical and business needs into interfaces that healthcare staff can rely on, with accessibility, security, and data protection built in from the start.
You will work closely with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders, connecting your interfaces to documented REST APIs and contributing to cloud-native solutions designed for horizontal scaling. You will also take ownership of defined work packages, deliverables, and decisions, and may act as a point of contact with stakeholders for the parts of the solution you lead.
The role is fully remote from Portugal, with occasional trips to the client once or twice a year. Experience with healthcare projects is especially valued, as it gives a strong understanding of the context these interfaces are built for.
Your responsibilities will include
- Developing frontend interfaces for healthcare staff and clinical specialists.
- Building and releasing solutions with .NET 8+ and ASP.NET Razor and/or HTMX, or with React 18+ and strict TypeScript.
- Applying strict TypeScript settings, including strict mode, noImplicitAny, strictNullChecks, and exactOptionalPropertyTypes, when working on the React route.
- Implementing WCAG 2.2 A and AA accessibility requirements throughout project delivery.
- Applying WAI-ARIA labelling and carrying out screen reader testing.
- Integrating with documented REST APIs using JSON and OpenAPI definitions.
- Using automatic code generation based on OpenAPI definitions.
- Contributing to cloud-native solutions designed for horizontal scaling.
- Applying resilience patterns such as retry and circuit-breaking.
- Applying security-by-design principles and defending against OWASP Top 10 and CWE vulnerabilities.
- Making sure information security and data protection requirements are met, including the handling of medical record information.
- Ensuring code quality with the tools defined in the project's development handbook.
- artificial intelligence in software development in a responsible and structured way.
- Working with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders towards defined objectives.
- Taking ownership of defined work packages, deliverables, and technical decisions.
- Acting as a point of contact with stakeholders and leading improvements in your area of the solution.
- Contributing to digital transformation initiatives and the client's strategic objectives in healthcare.
What should you bring to the team?

- More than 3 years of combined experience with .NET 5+, including development and release with .NET 8 or later, plus experience with ASP.NET Razor (not WebForms) and/or HTMX; or
- Experience with React 18+ in strict mode, along with experience in TypeScript v6+ and more than 2 years of combined experience with TypeScript v5+.
- Experience with cloud-native solutions designed for horizontal scaling.
- Knowledge of resilience patterns in cloud programming, such as retry and circuit-breaking.
- Proven experience applying WCAG 2.2 A and AA in project delivery.
- Experience with WAI-ARIA labelling and screen reader testing.
- Experience with documented REST APIs using JSON, OpenAPI definitions on all endpoints, and automatic code generation.
- Experience with security-oriented design and defences against the OWASP Top 10.
- Knowledge of security-by-design principles and CWE.
- Experience in information security and data protection.
- Familiarity with the guidance issued by the Data Protection Authority on data protection and the handling of medical record information.

- Experience with healthcare projects is a strong advantage.
- Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams with different team members and stakeholders towards defined objectives.
