About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Engineer to join BlackRock's SMA Solutions team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing, enhancing, and maintaining a sophisticated technology platform that supports the management of customized investment portfolios. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build micro-services, develop data integrations, and optimize operational workflows that underpin our investment strategies. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with at least five years of experience working with large-scale systems, preferably within investment management or trading environments. A strong foundation in programming fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns, is essential. Proficiency in one or more modern object-oriented languages such as Python, Java, or Go is required. Experience with web development frameworks like React or Angular, along with solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL, is also necessary. Familiarity with API design approaches including RESTful, GraphQL, or gRPC is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot live environment issues, write maintainable code, and collaborate effectively across teams. Additional qualifications include experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), integration with CRM platforms like Salesforce or MS Dynamics, and familiarity with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or AWS SQS.
