About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Software Developer to join our dynamic team at our Houston or Austin, Texas offices. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing,
testing, and maintaining proprietary software solutions tailored for local government agencies. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing our existing reporting tools, designing user interfaces, and constructing robust
database queries. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in coding, debugging, and software development processes, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly support community growth and financial sustainability.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, complemented by at least one year of hands-on experience in software development and
testing. Strong knowledge of programming languages such as
.NET C#, Visual Basic, and
SQL is essential. Familiarity with MVC frameworks,
AngularJS,
Vue.js, Qlik, GIS, APIs, and Microsoft Internet Information Server will be highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to make moderately complex decisions, solve problems effectively, and apply their knowledge to improve existing procedures and technologies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also required.
Responsibilities
- Write, modify, and debug software for HdL proprietary programs based on a thorough understanding of program architecture and development experience.
- Utilize source debuggers and visual development environments to ensure code quality and functionality.
- Test, document, and deploy software solutions tailored for client applications, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
- Design and develop intuitive user interfaces that enhance user experience and accessibility.
- Enhance and optimize existing reporting tools, features, and customized reports for internal and client use.
- Construct and execute complex database queries on PostgreSQL to support data retrieval and analysis.
- Apply intermediate skills in design, coding, debugging, and testing to deliver functional program modules.
- Understand network protocols and architecture to develop solutions that integrate with network systems.
- Develop code using technologies such as .NET C#, Visual Basic, MVC, AngularJS, Vue.js, and Qlik.
- Leverage knowledge of GIS, APIs, and Microsoft Internet Information Server to support software development and integration efforts.
