About The Role
GrabJobs is actively seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will play a critical part in enhancing, updating, and maintaining an existing Department of Defense (DoD) cloud-based system. The ideal candidate will have substantial hands-on experience with Angular, Java, and Accumulo, and will thrive in an agile environment that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include developing new functionalities, migrating existing systems to their latest versions, and supporting the full lifecycle of system development, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical systems in a secure environment, contributing to projects that have a meaningful impact on national security.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of five years of experience in either front-end or back-end software development. A strong proficiency in Java and Angular is essential, along with experience working with IT teams to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively. Candidates should demonstrate excellent business communication and interpersonal skills, along with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving. Discipline and self-motivation are crucial for success in a remote or telecommuting setup. A background in Department of Defense (DoD) projects is preferred, along with familiarity with AWS cloud environments and no-SQL databases. Candidates must hold a Top Secret/SCI security clearance and a DoD 8570.01m Certification (IAT-II). A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant military experience.
Responsibilities
The Software Developer will be responsible for engaging with the development team and program managers to discuss project requirements and schedules. Key responsibilities include supporting the development of detailed requirements, writing and testing new code, and integrating various applications or systems to ensure seamless operation. The role involves investigating and analyzing root cause issues, proposing effective solutions, and verifying and validating final implementations. Additionally, the developer will participate in initial system design planning and contribute to ongoing enhancements of existing plans. Documenting requirements accurately and participating in client meetings are integral parts of the job. The developer will also help evolve the application by developing testing procedures and quality assurance protocols, ensuring the system operates reliably and efficiently in a secure environment.
