What does the company do?
The company is building an open-source data platform for robotics and physical AI. It tackles a hard infrastructure problem: today's tools for storing, indexing and retrieving high-frequency sensor data are either too basic or too painful to use at scale.
The core is Apache 2.0 licensed, with a public roadmap and an active community (1,200+ stars on GitHub). On top of it, they're building a commercial offering for teams in defence, automotive and agritech.
What's it like working here?
A small, engineering-led team based in Reggio Emilia, working fully remote with flexible hours.
They build in the open: the codebase is meant to be read and contributed to, not just used, which is still rare among Italian companies.
A lean stack with few layers, where each engineer's decisions actually shape the product.
The challenge: making robotics data useful to people who don't write code.
Today the platform is accessed through an SDK and a CLI. The next step is a dashboard that lets data analysts, project leads and operations staff browse sequences, monitor ingestion, track storage growth and transfer data straight from a browser.
The data is high-frequency, multimodal and context-rich, so the real challenge isn't the UI: it's turning that complexity into something immediately useful.
The Software Engineer will own the application end to end:
Who are we looking for?
An engineer with a strong Python backend who enjoys shipping complete products and keeping the stack simple.
Ideal candidates will have:
Nice to have: hands-on htmx (or a strong interest in its approach), Pandas or Polars, a background in data engineering or pipelines, familiarity with robotics or sensor data, open-source contributions.
They're looking for someone who wants to own a product from query design to production deploy, and who cares about code that others can read and build on.
