Role Description As a JavaScript Developer at HummingBird, you will build and maintain features for our AI-powered talent platform in a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, DC. You will design, implement, and optimize front-end interfaces and back-end services, ensuring responsive, accessible, and high-performing user experiences. Your day-to-day work will include writing clean, testable JavaScript code, integrating APIs, collaborating with product managers and designers, and troubleshooting issues across the stack. You will participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and help improve development workflows and best practices. You will also work closely with data and AI teams to integrate advanced analytics and intelligent features into the platform.


Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript with experience applying it in modern web applications.
  • Front-End Development skills, including building responsive UIs, working with frameworks or libraries (e.g., React or similar), and state management tools such as Redux.js.
  • Back-End Web Development experience, including building and consuming APIs, working with server-side frameworks, and integrating with databases.
  • Software Development fundamentals, including version control (Git), testing practices, debugging, and familiarity with Agile or similar methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and contribute to scalable, maintainable architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with HR tech, recruitment platforms, or AI-driven products is a plus.
