About The Role

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services, is seeking a Software Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO, to support future franchise programs. This role involves software development for the next generation Mission Planning system designed for the Department of Defense. As a Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a Scrum team, working within the SAFe Agile framework to develop weapon planning software for advanced defense applications. The system utilizes a microservices architecture, with front-end development primarily using JavaScript and React, and back-end services developed mainly in C#. Your responsibilities will include supporting the entire software lifecycle, from design and development to testing and maintenance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions that meet mission-critical requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance. Candidates should have at least 5 years of software development experience, with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C#, and/or C++. Experience with RESTful APIs, version control tools like Git or Azure DevOps, and Agile methodologies is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication abilities to collaborate across cross-functional teams, are required. Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and system validation in complex environments is also necessary. Candidates should be capable of documenting software designs, interface specifications, and test plans clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain weapon planning software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring functionality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to analyze customer requirements and translate them into initial software designs.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and optimization of software components for system integration.
  • Assist in documenting architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software products.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues promptly to maintain system performance and reliability.
  • Develop and improve software processes to enhance efficiency and quality standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices relevant to mission systems.
