Role Description The Web Developer role at PALIST is a full-time remote position focused on designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and digital platforms that support the Syndicate’s mission. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing front-end interfaces, building and integrating back-end services, and ensuring responsive, accessible, and secure web experiences. The Web Developer will collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into functional solutions, troubleshoot and optimize existing systems, and support ongoing improvements to member-facing and public-facing websites. The role also involves documenting code, following best practices in web development, and staying current with emerging technologies relevant to the Palestinian digital ecosystem.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Web Development and Programming skills for building and maintaining modern web applications.
  • Candidates should possess Front-End Development and Web Design skills to create responsive, user-friendly, and accessible interfaces.
  • Candidates should possess Back-End Web Development skills to design, integrate, and optimize server-side logic, APIs, and databases.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with common web technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern front-end framework such as React, Vue, or Angular).
  • Candidates should possess experience with server-side languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar), as well as database systems (SQL or NoSQL).
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of version control (e.g., Git), secure coding practices, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with diverse teams.
  • A relevant academic background or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is beneficial; experience contributing to community or national digital initiatives is an asset.
