About the Role

Penomo is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join its remote engineering team on a full-time basis. The role combines fullstack software development, cloud infrastructure, application security, and AI-assisted engineering. You will own features from initial planning through deployment and user feedback, while helping build secure applications for renewable energy finance and tokenized assets.

Working closely with the founders and engineering team, you will contribute to technical decisions, improve development workflows, and help shape engineering practices as the company grows. The position also offers scope to develop into a technical leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery, from planning and implementation to deployment and user feedback.
• Use Claude Code and Cursor for AI-assisted specification writing, software development, test creation, and deployment workflows.
• Design and implement secure architectures for financial applications that handle real transactions.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security checks.
• Contribute to AI-assisted sprint planning and technical decision-making.
• Develop AI-powered features, including prompt workflows, document parsing, and large language model (LLM) integrations.
• Deploy and monitor applications on AWS using services such as ECS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Maintain clean, testable, and well-documented code across services.
• Collaborate with founders and teammates to align technical priorities with business goals.
• Take ownership of sprint planning and delivery while contributing to the team's engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience building and deploying production-grade fullstack applications is preferred as the stated experience threshold; candidates with less experience are also encouraged to apply if they demonstrate a strong ability to learn quickly.
• Solid DevOps experience, including AWS, CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Ability to manage sprints independently and take ownership of delivery from planning through deployment.
• Experience using Claude Code for AI-first software engineering.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams, or a strong interest in developing into a leadership role.
• Comfort working in a startup environment with flexible, iterative development practices.
• Willingness to learn and adopt AI-first engineering methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with smart contracts and asset tokenization, including Solidity and ERC standards.
• Knowledge of NIS2, ISO 27001, or SOC 2 implementation.

Technical Environment

• Frontend: ReactJS and Tailwind CSS.
• Backend: Node.js, Express, and MongoDB.
• Blockchain: Solidity, ERC-3643, and ERC-20.
• DevOps and testing: AWS ECS, CloudWatch, GitHub Actions, and Playwright.
• AI tooling: Claude Code, Cursor, and AI-based test automation.

Location & Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote, full-time position open to candidates working within UTC+1 to UTC+12 time zones. The stated start date is Q4 2025.

Compensation is based on experience and location. The company offers ownership of sprint planning and delivery, a MacBook Pro, subscriptions to AI development tools including Claude Pro and Cursor, flexible working hours with core overlap requirements, and direct mentorship. Potential equity participation may be available through a future employee stock option plan.
