About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II to join our remote team, with the possibility of hiring in Arizona, North Carolina, or Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting cloud-native solutions across our Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies, software development, and system integrations. Your expertise will enable you to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable solutions that support our critical financial operations. This position involves active participation in technical design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and production support, working closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of experience in software application development and maintenance. Alternatively, candidates with a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience will also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering and architecture experience, with a proven track record of designing, developing, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS. Essential technical skills include experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, AWS Step Functions, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, and KMS. Familiarity with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code practices, containerization technologies such as Docker and OpenShift, and event-driven architectures is highly desirable. Strong development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js, along with expertise in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies, is required. Candidates should have the ability to build highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure enterprise solutions. Leadership experience in guiding development teams and making technical architecture decisions is a plus. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, IAM, and KMS. You will design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable microservices and serverless architectures aligned with business needs. Building and supporting event-driven systems, supporting continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and ensuring the high availability and fault tolerance of applications are key aspects of this role. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues. Additionally, you will contribute to the modernization of existing systems and support enterprise-scale financial solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers and driving best practices in cloud architecture and development.
