Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Engineer role based in Dubai. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain features for ComBase’s community platform, with a focus on building reliable, scalable, and secure back-end services. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing APIs, optimizing database interactions, integrating third-party services, and collaborating with product, design, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The role involves reviewing code, improving system performance, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices. The engineer will participate in agile ceremonies, provide input on architecture decisions, and help ensure that new features align with user experience and business needs.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.
  • Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications.
  • Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and clean, maintainable code practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and workflows (version control, CI/CD, automated testing).
  • Experience working with cloud-based environments and scalable web architectures is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.
  • Comfort working in an on-site, fast-paced product environment and adapting to evolving requirements.
