As a full-stack engineering lead, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and ongoing improvement of software products and integrations. This is a hands-on role: candidates must have professional Node.js experience across the stack, including backend development, rather than a frontend-only background. You will guide and mentor software engineers while working with product, technical, and business stakeholders to turn requirements and user stories into effective technical outcomes.
The team uses JavaScript and Node.js, Linux environments including RHEL, Git, cloud-based development environments, and automated testing practices. You will help build and test system interfaces, support integration work, and promote sound engineering practices, including Test-Driven Development. The position also involves improving existing applications and helping ensure that products remain stable, resilient, maintainable, and fit for operational use.

Qualifications
- Strong professional experience developing full-stack applications with JavaScript and Node.js, including backend development.
- Practical experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience working in Linux environments, ideally RHEL, and using Git or another distributed version control system.
- Experience developing in cloud-based environments and building or testing system integrations and interfaces.
- Ability to lead or mentor software engineers within Agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Confidence translating business requirements and user stories into technical designs and deliverable solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Desirable experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, BDD or Cucumber, microservices, REST APIs, and maintaining codebases developed by other engineers.
- Develop, enhance, test, and maintain full-stack software using JavaScript and Node.js.
- Contribute to backend services, user-facing functionality, REST APIs, and system integrations.
- Apply TDD and automated testing practices to produce reliable, maintainable code.
- Work with cloud-based development environments and Linux systems, following team standards for version control and delivery.
- Guide and mentor engineers, encourage collaboration, and support effective Agile ways of working.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements, assess options, and communicate technical decisions.
- Improve the stability, resilience, and maintainability of products, including applications and codebases created by other engineers.
- Attend the Blackpool office two to three times per month and participate in relevant team and stakeholder activities.
