About The Role

The Software Engineer at Lingraphica plays a vital role in developing and maintaining software that powers speech-generating devices and related applications. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional Innovation team, this role involves partnering with product managers, designers, and engineering colleagues to create high-quality, user-focused solutions. The Software Engineer will contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design and development to deployment and ongoing support. The position emphasizes writing clean, efficient code, participating in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting, as well as supporting automated testing and continuous integration practices. The role requires a proactive approach to enhancing internal tools, infrastructure, and engineering processes to ensure optimal product performance and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proficiency with Unity and C# programming language
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs (Node.js or similar technology)
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and GitHub
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum development environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the U.S. up to two times per year for team and company meetings

Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Vercel, React Native for mobile app development, familiarity with Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), AI APIs, and experience with Python, PostgreSQL, Firebase, or similar technologies. Knowledge of testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing practices, and exposure to machine learning concepts are also advantageous. Additionally, experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), understanding of relational and NoSQL database design, and familiarity with AI development further strengthen candidacy.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software for speech-generating devices and related applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centered solutions that meet customer needs
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to best practices
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting across the technology stack
  • Contribute to both automated and manual testing efforts to ensure high product quality
  • Support production systems through bug fixes, performance enhancements, and issue resolution
  • Engage in Agile team ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to foster continuous improvement
  • Enhance internal tools, infrastructure, and engineering processes such as CI/CD pipelines and documentation practices
