I’m working with a fast-growing industrial automation and manufacturing technology company that is building a combination of robotics, connected production systems and software for major food & beverage / consumer goods customers.

They’re now looking for a Solutions Engineer to join their Product team and work across software development, systems integration, data and internal business systems.

This is a great fit for somebody who enjoys sitting at the intersection of software engineering, APIs, data and operational technology rather than working on one narrow product area.

What you’ll be working on

You’ll help build and improve the systems that connect customers, vendors, manufacturing operations and internal teams, including:

• Building internal applications and tools using Python and JavaScript / Node.js
• Developing and maintaining API and systems integrations
• Creating data pipelines and working with data from multiple business systems
• Customising and improving ERP and WMS platforms
• Building BI dashboards and reporting tools
• Developing responsive web applications that improve internal workflows
• Testing and validating applications built across the wider engineering organisation
• Troubleshooting integrations, applications and business systems
• Working directly with Product, Operations and other teams to understand problems and build practical solutions
• Using modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing and documentation

What they’re looking for

Ideally you’ll have around 2–5 years of software development, systems engineering or IT experience, with strong exposure to:

✅ Python

✅ JavaScript / Node.js

✅ SQL

✅ REST APIs / systems integrations

✅ ERP and/or WMS platforms

✅ Building dashboards or working with business intelligence tools

✅ Working directly with non-technical or cross-functional stakeholders

You should be comfortable owning projects independently, figuring out ambiguous problems and moving between software, data and business systems depending on what needs solving.

Particularly useful experience

Any of the following would be a bonus:

• React
• REST / SOAP / EDI integrations
• SAP
• Data engineering
• AWS or Azure
• Lambda, S3, Glue, RDS or Azure Data Factory
• Axios or similar integration libraries
• AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT or Claude
• Experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing or industrial environments

This isn’t a traditional pre-sales Solutions Engineer position.

It’s a hands-on technical role for somebody who likes building, integrating and improving the systems that keep a rapidly scaling physical operation running.
