KonfiGen is a Swiss startup looking for an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in product configurators and hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM technology, to join us on a remote freelance basis.

About the Role

You'll work on designing, developing, and optimizing configurator solutions that power complex product customization workflows — and help bring AI-driven capabilities into these systems, from intelligent recommendations to natural-language-based configuration assistance.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement configurator logic (CPQ / rule-based systems)
• Integrate LLM-based features (e.g., conversational configuration assistants, AI-powered recommendation engines, automated rule generation)
• Develop and maintain scalable, modular software architecture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, sales, engineering)
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing configurator systems
• Translate complex business rules into clean, maintainable code

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience with configurator/CPQ systems (e.g., Tacton, Configit, SAP CPQ, or custom-built solutions)
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM integration (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering)
• Strong programming skills (please specify stack, e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python)
• Solid understanding of rules engines, constraint-based logic, and product modeling
• Experience working independently as a freelancer/contractor
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration
• Nice to have: experience with 3D visualization, e-commerce integrations, or manufacturing/industrial domains
