About The Role
Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services, is seeking a Software Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO to support future franchise programs. This pivotal role involves developing cutting-edge software for the next generation Mission Planning system designed for the Department of Defense. As a Software Engineer, you will be integral to a dynamic scrum team, following the SAFe
Agile methodology to deliver high-quality weapon planning software. The system utilizes a
microservices architecture with
JavaScript and
React for the front-end and primarily
C# for
backend services. Your contributions will directly impact national
security and defense capabilities, making this a highly rewarding opportunity for professionals passionate about mission-critical software development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance. A minimum of 5 years of software development experience is required, including proficiency in languages such as
JavaScript,
TypeScript,
React,
C#, and C++. Experience with RESTful APIs, version control systems like Git or
Azure DevOps, and
Agile methodologies is essential. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and excellent communication skills are also necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and program managers. Prior experience in defense or aerospace projects involving mission-critical or open architecture systems is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain weapon planning software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Assist the Product Owner in reviewing, analyzing, and translating customer requirements into initial software designs.
- Develop, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities, including system integrations.
- Create and maintain architecture documents, interface specifications, algorithms, and design documentation for software components.
- Debug and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure system stability and performance.
- Support the development of testing procedures, including unit, integration, and system testing, to validate software quality.
- Collaborate within Agile teams using tools like Jira, Jira Align, or Azure DevOps to track progress and deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and document best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate innovative solutions to enhance software capabilities.
