Position Summary

We are seeking a senior, hands-on developer with proven experience shipping real software in healthcare environments — EHR, EMR, home care, or other regulated platforms. The initial focus is a caregiver app and the platform supporting it. You will build web and mobile experiences, connect business systems, and deliver practical AI features that reduce manual work and improve everyday workflows.

This role is not for generalists. You will take ownership from understanding the business need through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support — working closely with teams across Care Services, Operations, Billing, Compliance, and People Support.

Responsibilities

Application & Platform Development

● Design, build, and maintain caregiver-facing web and mobile applications, backend services, APIs, and relational databases.

● Develop capabilities such as caregiver profiles, communications, tasks, reminders, document access, and operational dashboards.

● Translate business needs into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and manageable delivery plans.

● Build reusable components and maintain clear documentation so the broader technology team can support the platform.

AI Application Development

● Build production AI applications and agentic workflows using Anthropic, OpenAI, and other approved providers, including retrieval, structured outputs, tool use, and orchestration across systems.

● Use AI-assisted development tools effectively while reviewing and remaining accountable for the resulting code.

● Evaluate AI features for accuracy, reliability, safety, response time, and cost.

● Include appropriate human review, data protection, and safe handling of errors.

Cloud Engineering

● Design, deploy, and operate secure applications across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud.

● Apply sound architecture, identity and networking controls, infrastructure as code, observability, disaster recovery, and cost management.

Systems Integration

● Build robust integrations across healthcare and business systems using APIs, webhooks, secure data exchanges, and MCP servers and clients.

● Work with EMRs, CRMs, cloud computing platforms, HRIS, and other platforms as prioritized.

● Implement authentication, permissions, validation, rate-limit handling, retries, idempotency, and reconciliation for reliable integrations.

● Introduce new capabilities in controlled phases with operational validation before replacing existing workflows.

Security & Production Reliability

● Implement role-based access, encryption, audit logging, secure credential management, and separation of dev and production environments.

● Follow HIPAA-aligned security, privacy, and healthcare data-handling requirements.

● Maintain automated tests, repeatable deployments, monitoring, backup and recovery, and rollback procedures.

● Investigate production issues and address their underlying causes.

Required Qualifications

● 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years building and supporting production applications.

● Proven track record shipping software in a healthcare environment: EHR, EMR, home care, or other regulated platform.

● Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript and React (or equivalent); Python, Node.js, or comparable backend framework; PostgreSQL or comparable relational database.

● Strong production experience with agentic AI across Anthropic and OpenAI: tool calling, retrieval, orchestration, state management, evaluations, monitoring, and human approval controls.

● Deep integration engineering experience with APIs, webhooks, and MCP servers and clients, connecting multiple systems securely.

● Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud — deployment, identity, networking, managed data services, monitoring, and cost optimization.

● Experience implementing HIPAA-aligned access controls, privacy safeguards, and auditability for sensitive information.

● Ability to turn unclear business needs into maintainable software with limited supervision.

● Strong written and spoken English, clear documentation habits, and effective collaboration with nontechnical colleagues.

● A portfolio or examples of production healthcare applications personally designed, built, deployed, and supported.

Preferred Qualifications

● Familiarity with HIPAA-aligned software development and secure healthcare integrations.

● Experience with home care, care management, or workforce systems handling sensitive caregiver/client data.

● Experience with React Native, Flutter, or another cross-platform mobile framework.

● Experience building configurable workflows or systems supporting multiple business entities, programs, or states.

● A successful record of remote collaboration with U.S.-based teams.

Work Environment

● Fully remote / offshore position.

● Must work Monday–Friday, aligned with U.S. Eastern Time business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST).

● Must maintain reliable internet access and a suitable remote working environment.

● Communicate progress, blockers, and availability clearly through company-approved tools.
