The successful candidate will combine strong full stack engineering expertise with Generative AI innovation to develop production-grade applications that leverage modern web technologies, REST APIs,
cloud-native platforms, enterprise data, and AI models.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare and advanced technology, directly impacting patient care, provider workflows, and business operations. The engineer will be involved throughout the entire software lifecycle—from business discovery, system design, and full stack development to
testing,
cloud deployment, and ongoing production support. The role requires a hands-on builder capable of translating ambiguous business problems into practical, scalable solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders, and establishing standards for secure, reliable, and scalable delivery across various healthcare platforms.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where speed, reliability, and innovation are critical. Success in this role involves partnering with business teams to validate solutions quickly, transforming prototypes into scalable solutions, and ensuring high adoption, reliability, and measurable outcomes. The role also emphasizes mentorship, architectural leadership, and continuous improvement to support McKesson’s strategic healthcare initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in enterprise-scale software development, with a strong foundation in full stack engineering. Proficiency in designing and consuming REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations is necessary. Experience developing
cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure, along with familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated
testing, and
Agile methodologies, is highly preferred. Candidates should also have a proven track record of acting as a technical lead or primary owner for enterprise applications, supporting scalable architectures, and turning ambiguous business needs into technical solutions.

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, containerized workloads, and Kubernetes deployments to ensure continuous delivery and operational excellence.
- Serve as the technical owner for assigned applications or platforms, establishing architecture standards, engineering guardrails, service level objectives (SLOs), and production-readiness criteria.
- Lead modernization efforts, address technical debt, improve system resiliency, conduct design reviews, resolve incidents, and implement root-cause prevention strategies.
