Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to help drive and guide development of our internal web application, Genius, powering the back half of our production pipeline and many crucial internal tools and reports. Your expertise will be invaluable in guiding the team and driving big projects as we complete our stack modernization effort in 2026, deliver impactful new features, and architect for continued growth.

This role will be about 70% backend-focused, primarily working in Python and Django, with server-rendered templates in Jinja2, a REST API for integrations, and some front-end work in HTMX, CSS, and JavaScript / jQuery. We also use Docker, AWS, MySQL, Celery, Redis, and lots of other tech. We’re big on agentic coding, and are evolving our development processes across all teams to leverage Claude Code and other AI tools for high output without sacrificing quality. As a senior developer, you’ll be expected to think deeply about solutions to scale and optimize agentic development workflows, in the Genius team and across other software development teams.

Responsibilities:

• Code and maintain web applications using the Django framework
• Perform front-end development on proprietary systems using jQuery, HTML, and CSS
• Participate in the full lifecycle of application development, including design, coding, testing, implementation, deployment as well as support and maintenance
• Explore and implement continuous improvements to the team’s agentic development workflows
• Collaborate with various teams and integrate applications with other systems
• Independently propose, discuss, and implement complex technical solutions
• Advise on architectural patterns and solutions for projects led by teammates
• Mentor and offer feedback to mid-level developers
• Quickly respond to and resolve time-sensitive production issues
• Assist in the hiring and interview process
• Translate software requirements into working maintainable solutions within existing application frameworks
• Perform application and system performance optimization
• Analyze problem/task to give accurate timelines for milestones and full implementation completion
• Create user interface, server-side components, and database integration

Requirements:

• 7+ years professional software development experience
• 7+ years working with Django or equivalent Python web frameworks
• Excellent professional English communication skills (C1 or C2 level)
• Proficient with agentic development (Claude Code, Codex, etc.)
• Experience with MySQL or similar relational database
• Advanced knowledge of Python
• Advanced knowledge of full-stack web architecture and performance optimization
• Familiar with REST APIs
• Proficient in writing unit and integration tests
• Proficient in front-end non-SPA development with JavaScript and CSS
• Proficient with git
• Strong ownership and collaboration skills, able to work independently with stakeholders on significant projects
• Webcam and microphone with clear audio
• Stable, high-speed Internet connection

Salary: $2,500–$3,500/month, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Full-time; 6+ hours daily overlap with US Eastern Time working hours
