About the Role

Journey Coffee Co. is looking for a Junior Web Developer to support the development, maintenance, and improvement of its websites and web applications. This is a full-time remote position suited to someone with a foundation in web development who is eager to build practical experience across front-end and back-end technologies.

You will help create responsive user interfaces, support server-side functionality, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve website performance. Working with designers, marketing team members, and senior developers, you will help turn business requirements into functional web features that support customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain website interfaces that provide a responsive, accessible, and consistent user experience.

• Assist with back-end development, including server-side logic, data handling, and API integrations.

• Troubleshoot bugs, identify technical issues, and support ongoing website maintenance and performance improvements.

• Collaborate with designers, marketing colleagues, and senior developers to translate business needs into practical web solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and development best practices.

• Contribute to technical documentation to support maintainable and consistent development.

• Assist with deployment and ongoing support of websites and web applications.

Required Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Foundational understanding of front-end development and web design, including responsive and accessible interfaces.

• Basic knowledge of at least one back-end programming language or framework, such as Node.js, Python, or PHP.

• Understanding of general web development principles, including debugging, data handling, and API integration.

• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and collaborative development workflows.

• Ability to learn quickly, follow coding standards, troubleshoot problems, and communicate clearly with colleagues in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework, bootcamp training, or practical project experience in web development.
• A degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
