About this role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you build, run, and evolve the systems that power our business end-to-end: framing problems, designing and shipping solutions, and keeping them healthy in production. You work across our stack, from backend services to customer-facing applications, and you bring strong judgment about what to build and what to leave alone.

You partner with other engineers, domain leads, directors, and technical product managers. We are looking for someone who walks into ambiguity and leaves with a clear technical path, flags risks early, and raises the bar for the people around them.

What You Will Do

  • Own features end-to-end: framing, design, construction, testing, deployment, and production operations.
  • Develop and enhance APIs, backend services, and internal platforms.
  • Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems.
  • Create web applications and workflow tools that hold up in production.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack, especially those that span service boundaries.
  • Anticipate failure modes and design for clarity, testability, and reversibility.
  • Improve our development infrastructure, including CI/CD, environment management, and observability.
  • Raise the bar through code reviews, design input, and the standard your own work sets.
  • Translate technical reality into language product and leadership can act on.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and own the production health of the systems you ship.

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of software development experience owning ambiguous problems and shipping durable solutions.
  • Strong experience building production APIs and integrating with external systems.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of C#, Go, or TypeScript.
  • Production experience in at least one additional programming language, ideally another language in our stack.
  • Working knowledge of React or a comparable modern frontend framework.
  • Experience with cloud services and modern cloud development practices (Azure preferred).
  • Solid understanding of SQL databases and caching technologies (Redis preferred).
  • Strong judgment about what not to build, with the ability to make sound tradeoffs when priorities conflict.
  • Comfortable taking on problems outside your area of expertise and working in unfamiliar codebases.
  • Ownership beyond your code, including systems, documentation, and engineering standards.
  • A reputation as an engineer others rely on for solving difficult technical problems.
  • Strong communication skills, raising risks early, keeping stakeholders informed, and acknowledging when additional information is needed.
  • Enthusiasm for leveraging AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Ideally You'll Also Have

  • Experience working across both backend and frontend with meaningful production experience in each.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech.
  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Experience with healthcare data standards, including HL7 and FHIR.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS platforms and customer management systems.
  • Experience with advanced DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and observability tooling.

What We Have to Offer

  • The opportunity to grow alongside an early-stage company transforming a large, outdated industry.
  • Flexible paid time off, including 12 paid holidays.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums.
  • Company contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Stock options.

Compensation

Prescryptive is committed to fair pay practices. The projected annual salary range for this position is $165,000–$215,000. When preparing an offer, we consider a candidate's experience, skills, interview feedback, internal equity, and geographic location.
