About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will work independently or with limited supervision to translate high-level business requirements into innovative technical solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and debugging software applications that support our core business functions. Your expertise will help improve existing systems and develop new features that enhance our operational efficiency and customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of full-stack development, cloud computing, microservices architecture, and data streaming systems. Additionally, you will lead small development projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our software solutions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development within an IT organization, with a proven track record of designing and developing RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field is required. Candidates should have at least 3+ years of experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, or Postgres, along with 1+ years of experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB. Strong proficiency in developing scalable, real-time data streaming systems using Kafka is essential. Experience with full-stack development, including React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3, is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience deploying applications in cloud environments such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform, leveraging containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug software to support new and existing applications, ensuring high quality and performance (65%).
• Design and implement changes to applications, enhancing functionality and user experience (10%).
• Create, execute, and thoroughly document unit and system-level test plans to ensure robustness (15%).
• Provide ongoing support for production applications, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of issues (5%).
• Participate actively in Agile methodologies and ceremonies, fostering a collaborative and iterative development process (5%).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and API designs.
• Build and maintain high-performance APIs following best practices and microservices architecture principles.
• Develop scalable, real-time data streaming systems using Kafka to support business needs.
• Design and develop responsive web applications and reusable components using React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Maintain and optimize features across the entire technology stack, including user interfaces, databases, and server-side logic.
• Deploy artifacts to cloud and on-premises infrastructure using CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and delivery.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, conduct code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Monitor and analyze API performance metrics, identifying areas for enhancement and optimization.
• Maintain comprehensive API documentation for developers and end-users.
• Write and execute integration tests to validate individual components and overall system integrity.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Provide application support, analyze complex issues, and implement effective solutions.
