ABOUT GOPARITY

Goparity is an impact finance platform that connects companies that need funding for sustainable projects with individuals and organizations who want to invest sustainably. Through our impact investment platform, users invest their money on organizations that pursue sustainable projects. We are growing both in terms of size and impact generated. We were born in Portugal in 2017 but have since financed projects and grown a large community of investors worldwide. We are looking for smart creative people who want to take part in our mission to democratize the financial sector, for the good of people and our planet.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Tech team and bring experience and curiosity. We are growing our team as we further expand our platform capabilities beyond lending. 

We are looking for a great team player, with good communication skills and that is eager to learn, contribute and own the platform evolution. 


ABOUT THE ROLE – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Deliver new features of the platform through the full delivery lifecycle from discovery to roll out 
  • Be responsible for the platform’s reliability and continuous improvement 
  • Be proactive and contribute into the platform evolution (we want to hear your opinion) 


ABOUT YOU 

The skills and experience you are looking for. 

- Mandatory 

  • Willingness to learn and grow as a professional
  • Curiosity for AI supported Software Engineering (experience with Claude Code is a plus) 
  • 2 years of backend and API development (ideally PHP but experience with Python, Ruby, C# or Java are also acceptable) 
  • Experience with Web Development (experience with VueJS is a plus) 
  • Experience with databases
  • Fluent with Git and English
  • Resident in Portugal or Spain 

- Bonus points for 

  • Experience with Laravel or other PHP frameworks 
  • Experience with Automated Testing 
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery

  • Attentive to others and ability to work effectively with a multinational team (we are an English-first company, so you need good English communication skills).

Workplace 

We are mostly a remote team, you can work from anywhere. Maximum liberty comes with full responsibility. 

We are based in Wonder Work (Bairro Azul) in Lisbon and hold memberships of different working spaces in Porto and Barcelona. We sponsor everyone to come to the office once every month. Face-to-face time improves communication, builds trust, and contributes to team alignment. 

We have one mandatory in-person meeting, happening every quarter in Lisbon.

Extra vacation days 

25,5 days of vacations (3,5 days extra days on top of the 22 legal days: 1 Carnival + 1 Birthday and + 1,5 days during the Holiday season (between Christmas and NYE) 

Compensation range 

Our range for this role is a total gross package of 25k€ to 40k€. Final offer will depend on your experience and location. 

Training budget 

500€ budget for training every year.
