Role Description
This is a part-time, remote Software Developer (Claude) role for the Mindkeeper | Mental Health App. The developer will design, implement, and maintain application features that leverage Claude-based AI capabilities to improve user experience and mental health support. Day-to-day responsibilities include integrating AI services into the app, writing clean and efficient code, collaborating with product and design teams to refine requirements, and ensuring the app is secure, reliable, and scalable. The role also involves troubleshooting and debugging issues, optimizing performance, and documenting technical decisions and APIs. The developer will participate in regular remote meetings, contribute to code reviews, and help enhance development workflows and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in at least one modern language commonly used for app or backend development (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, or similar).
- Experience integrating AI or large language model APIs (such as Claude or similar) into applications, including prompt design and response handling.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services, with the ability to design, consume, and document endpoints.
- Familiarity with mobile or web application development frameworks and version control tools (e.g., React, React Native, Android, iOS, Git).
- Understanding of secure coding practices, data privacy, and basic cybersecurity principles, especially for health-related applications.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
- Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams, incorporating user feedback, and iterating on features in an agile or lean environment.
- Interest in mental health, digital health, or wellness products; prior experience in health tech or regulated environments is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
