About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team within J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing, enhancing, and delivering cutting-edge technology products that support our global wealth management operations. You will work within an
agile environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers, product managers, and stakeholders, to create scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Your deep technical expertise will drive innovation, optimize application performance, and ensure the deployment of reliable systems that meet the evolving needs of our clients and business units. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence technology strategy, lead technical initiatives, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced, technology-driven financial environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in software engineering, with at least five years of applied experience and relevant certifications. Demonstrated leadership in utilizing enterprise-approved AI-assisted development tools is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of responsible AI practices, data
security, and compliance standards. Candidates should have a robust knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, multi-threading, and distributed systems. Proficiency in
Java development for a minimum of eight years, with hands-on experience in Core
Java,
Java EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring
Cloud, Spring
Security, and related frameworks, is required. Additional expertise in web UI development using
ReactJS,
TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3, along with relational database skills, is preferred. Experience designing scalable
microservices, working with CI/CD pipelines, and deploying applications on AWS utilizing services such as AWS Lambda, ECS, S3, Aurora, and
API Gateway will be advantageous. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are vital for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and strategic direction to support business objectives and team development, including contractors and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code, conduct code reviews, and debug issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Lead the adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices across teams, establishing measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance automation, improve code quality, and accelerate delivery timelines, including AI-assisted code review, refactoring, and troubleshooting.
- Optimize backend applications for speed, reliability, and scalability, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with technical architects and designers to develop innovative products aligned with business needs and technological advancements.
- Promote and implement Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Lean, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and Continuous Delivery, to foster efficient workflows.
- Research emerging technologies, identify best practices, and provide technical guidance to teams across the organization.
- Work with globally distributed teams to deliver end-to-end solutions across different regions, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
- Engage with Wealth Managers and Product Specialists to gather feedback, advise on technical feasibility, and refine product features.
- Present solutions, demos, and updates to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business goals.
