At Strix Lab Inc., we are engineering high-performance decentralized forecasting infrastructure. We believe prediction markets are the ultimate truth aggregators. To achieve global scale, we've built our core Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) matching engine from scratch in Go, paired with a real-time TypeScript platform layer that streams live orderbooks, positions, and settlements to thousands of concurrent traders.


We are a lean, elite startup team. We don't care about corporate hierarchy or arrogance; we care about deterministic execution, clean abstractions, and shipping highly optimized software. We work remotely and asynchronously — prediction markets move at the speed of the news cycle, not the office clock, and we hire people we trust to manage their own time. As trading volume grows, we are looking for a Full-Stack Developer to build and harden the platform that sits between our matching engine and our traders.


The Role


As a Full-Stack Developer at Strix, you will own features end-to-end across our trading stack: from the Next.js trading interface, through our Node.js/TypeScript API and WebSocket layer, down to the boundary of our Go matching engine and on-chain settlement. You won't just build pages — you'll build the real-time machinery that makes a live orderbook feel instant: streaming price ladders, sub-second order status updates, and portfolio views that never lie to the user.


What You Will Do


- Trading Interface: Build and refine our Next.js (App Router)

- Platform APIs: Design and ship REST and WebSocket APIs in TypeScript/Node.js (Express + Prisma + PostgreSQL) that serve both our own frontend and external market makers.

- Order Lifecycle Engineering: Work across the full order pipeline — placement, matching, hold, settlement, cancellation — coordinating between Postgres, Kafka, our Go matching engine, and on-chain settlement contracts.

- Scale & Reliability: Profile and optimize hot paths (delta conflation, caching with Redis, horizontal fan-out), and build the observability to know when something is wrong before users do.


Who You Are (Requirements)


- Strong Web Foundations: You have solid production experience with TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Node.js, and you've shipped and maintained real applications with real users.

- Trading System Exposure: You've worked with (or built against) trading technologies — orderbooks, exchange APIs, market data feeds, or real-time financial dashboards. You understand limit orders, order status lifecycles, and why a stale price is worse than no price.

- Real-Time Instincts: You are comfortable with WebSockets, event-driven architectures, and the failure modes of streaming systems (reconnection, out-of-order delivery, snapshot/delta reconciliation).

- Data Discipline: You are fluent in SQL and relational modeling (we use PostgreSQL + Prisma), and you understand the difference between eventually consistent and wrong.

- Remote & Flexible: You thrive working remotely and can flex your hours when it matters. Markets react to real-world events in real time — election nights, match days, breaking news — and you're the kind of engineer who wants to be online when the action happens, then takes the quiet Tuesday off.

- Startup DNA: You excel in an unstructured, highly technical environment. You are a self-starter who writes clear documentation, tests their own code rigorously, and values transparent communication.


Nice to Have


- You understand how prediction markets work — binary outcome tokens, YES/NO complements, prices as probabilities, and contracts collapsing to $1.00 or $0.00 at resolution.

- Experience with Go, Kafka, or Redis pub/sub in production.

- Familiarity with Web3 infrastructure: wallet auth (e.g., Privy), EVM smart contract interaction (Viem/Ethers), or indexing layers (e.g., Goldsky).

- You've traded on predictions markets, or a similar venue — even casually — and have opinions about what a great trading UX feels like.
