Mid-Level Full Stack Developer – C# / React | £45,000–£55,000, with flexibility for the right person | Battersea, London | Hybrid – around three days a week
Use your development skills to help people when they need it most
I’m working with a legal technology company that builds software for law firms.
They’re now creating a new app for family lawyers who handle legalaid cases. These lawyers support people facing incredibly difficult situations, including domestic abuse and cases involving children.
The legalaid process is complicated and creates a huge amount of administration. The software you build will make that process easier, giving lawyers more time to support the people who need their help.
Why this could be a great move for you
You’ll take ownership of a new product from its early stages through to a working application.
You’ll help make the technical decisions, shape how the app works and see the direct effect of what you build. It’s a great opportunity for a mid-level developer who wants more responsibility and the chance to create something from scratch.
You’ll work with two established developers and directly with an experienced family solicitor who understands legalaid inside out. He has already started prototyping his ideas and will help you understand the real problems the software needs to solve.
It’s a small, approachable team where developers speak directly with the people using and shaping the product.
What you’ll be doing
Building a new legalaid application from scratch
Developing the back end in C# and the front end in React
Turning real problems faced by family lawyers into simple, useful features
Demonstrating your work regularly and gathering feedback as you build
Working closely with developers, product specialists and legal professionals
Using Claude and other AI tools to help you develop more efficiently
Reviewing and understanding AI-generated code before using it
What they’re looking for
You’ll need:
At least two years of commercial development experience
Strong C# back-end experience
Experience working with React or another modern front-end framework
The confidence to take ownership of your work and make technical decisions
The ability to explain technical ideas clearly to people outside development
A practical approach to AI-assisted development
An interest in building software that solves meaningful, real-world problems
You don’t need experience in legal technology or family law. The team can teach you the legal side.
What’s on offer
£45,000–£55,000, with flexibility for the right person
Hybrid working, usually three days a week in Battersea
Ownership of a brand-new application
Support from two experienced developers

Claude and other AI tools provided from your first day
The chance to build software that gives family lawyers more time to help vulnerable people
If you’re looking for more ownership and want to use your development skills for something that matters, I’d love to tell you more.
